The Executive Secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Mrs. Zainab Ahmed has called on State Governments to cooperate with NEITI to enable the agency deliver on its mandate particularly as it affects sub-national reporting and domestication of NEITI process. Mrs. Ahmed made this call at the just concluded 35th Kaduna International Trade Fair in Kaduna.

The objective of the Audit is to among other things establish what companies paid to government and what government received into the Federation account.

The Chairman, Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, Ledum Mitee has commended the Liberian EITI on the inclusion of some of the progressive provisions in the area of Contract Transparency in the LEITI Act. Ledum Mitee made this remark at NEITI Secretariat while receiving a delegation of Liberia EITI led by its national coordinator Mr Samson Tokpah, on a study tour of Nigeria.He noted that some of the very progressive provisions of the LEITI Act, especially in the area of Contract Transparency, amongst others, would assist the Civil Society groups and other stakeholders in Nigeria when the review of the NEITI Act 2007 commences.
