The SERVICOM unit in NEITI is designed to ensure efficient coordination and quality services to NEITI multi-stakeholders.
The NEITI Executive Secretary, Waziri Adio, made the disclosure while receiving the National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli.
Adio explained that the decision to set up the SERVICOM unit is to ensure that all the various departments perform their duties efficiently to meet their expectations in line with NEITI’s mandates.
The work of the SERVICOM unit, he explained, includes developing programs that will ensure sustained improvements of services to the Civil Society, Companies, Government partners and meeting NEITI’s global obligations.
He commended Mrs Akajemeli for her commitment to reposition SERVICOM in all Federal MDAs.
The Executive Secretary explained that the role of NEITI as an agent to enthronement of transparency and accountability in the extractive sector aligns with the mandate of SERVICOM in several areas.
He appealed to SERVICOM National Coordinator Mrs Akajemeli, that NEITI was an island of excellence in the discharge of its mandate. She said her visit was to explore further areas of collaboration; these include development of a service charter to streamline NEITI’s responsibilities and help manage clients’ expectations. Others are development of a self-assessment tool to measure services improvements as well as institutionalization of reward system to recognize exceptional performance in service delivery.
Mrs Akajemeli pledged the readiness of SERVICOM to work with NEITI for mutual benefits of the two organizations.
